Check out the test model I put up for the upcoming test.  This is what an A looks like.  Notice three parts: 1. the yellow highlights = the proper answers to the question. 2. the blue highlights = specific examples which prove your answer is correct.  3. the explanations and level of detail telling the reader what happened.  By the end of it you know something about what happened in world war I and world war II because the details inform the reader of the historical events.

A C may have the yellow but will the light on the blue highlights and/or on the explanations.

Notice, this A is about 725 words long - and it could be longer - but not much shorter.

Test 1 is moved to Thursday, May 31.

ALSO!!! Test test is the compare and contrast questions found HERE not in the syllabus.

His 101 classes scheduled for 12 April (thursday) are cancelled.

Next quiz will be on 19 April, next thursday.

For those of you in the 102 classes I have begun to post the 102 audiocast lectures.  There are two ways of listening to the lectures. (1) is to stream it right from the website, the other (2) is to download it from the file to your hard drive.

What's going up?
Over the next few days I will be posting materials from Part I of the class (ie. the lectures before the first test).  This will help the 7wk course students.  I will also be posting the entire collection of the Part 3 lectures (ie. everything between Test 2 and the Final) - which will help the 102 night course after tuesday.

What will not go up in the next few days?
Materials for the second part of the class (ie. from test 1 to 2) have yet to be created and will go up when they are recorded and edited.  This won't help the night classes (sorry) but will probably be up in time to help the 7wk course.

Enjoy.  hope they help.

Please let me know if there are problems with low volume. Most of these should be fine, but changes in rooms, equipment and mixing equipment = possible inconsistencies.  Please let me know which files might be a problem.

New 102 Test 1 has gone up, see next post for details.

Get it HERE

In an effect to make the testing of material both clearer and more streamlined I have posted new tests for history 101 classes.  Both Mesopotamia/Egypt and Greece/Rome have been changed.  Realize that they are not entirely new questions and indeed are very similar to the old questions in content.  This means if you have already started studying for the test you can still use most of your materials.

Note! A new 102 test 1 will be up by tomorrow evening.

Changes:
     *one question instead of two
     * selection from two choices instead of three
     * 4 instead of 5 questions to study
     * divided up parts - for a clearer idea of what to write.

What Hasn't Changed:
     * You will need specific historical examples to prove your points
     * You will need to explain how your point = an answer to the question
by specifically tying it to the question.
